So, I have been pretty upfront about our cancer journey, and will continue to do so. Well, while driving to the post office, I was pulled over by the City of Alpharetta Po Po (Police). I saw him pull right behind me, but couldn't figure out why he was behind me. I'm thinking, "What did I do wrong, I'm going the speed limit. Did someone rob a bank and the getaway car looked like mine." What is going on here. Then, I thought, "once I turn into the post office, he will continue to go straight and all will be good!" Wrong, as soon as I turned into the post office, he turned with me and hit me with the brightest blue lights ever.
As the rain hit his police vest, he approached my passenger side and quietly stated that my tags were expired. I professionally, and calmly said, "No there not, can I get out to show you." He politely said, "it's in our system that they expired in August 2018." So, I gave him my drivers license (with my tail between my legs) and quickly called Elisa. Elisa didn't remember if we paid it or not, but did remind me that we were a little distracted during that month. You see, August was the month we started our Radiation treatments and were dealing with the craziness of Cancer! Our lives were in somewhat of a disarray. Now, please understand, we are law abiding citizens, and pay our bills on time. However, this one slipped by....a small distraction. Anyway, the Police officer was kind enough to give me my drivers license, and said simply, "You don't look like someone that would BS me, thus go to the tags office and get your tags renewed." I believe what the police officer saw in me, was someone with faith and righteousness. The Bible simply says that when we believe God, that’s righteousness. The proof, or evidence, of our faith in Him is found in our actions. Faith without works is dead. That means when we really believe something, our actions will support what we believe. When we believe God, we have to leave some things behind in order to embrace the new life He has in store. As we let go of the old and, by faith, embrace God’s promises, know that He is leading us down paths of righteousness for His name’s sake! Keep believing and keep stepping out, knowing that your best days are ahead of you! Don't allow small detours in life wreck your day. Basically, I could have had a mean spirited, angry police officer pull me over and give me a hard time, but I didn't! Just wanted to share this experience with you Today's Prayer Be bold, Be brave, Be courageous Joshua 1:9 Thank you for reading my blog!
