![]() Many people have said, with a pure heart and wonderful intent, that they pray my 2019 is better than 2018. And, I appreciated the love and warmth behind the words and well wishes, however, 2018 wasn't a bad year for me. Many people think because I battled Cancer for half of the year, that 2018 was a horrible year for me, but it really wasn't.
Yes, I had a very intense journey with Cancer, but God blessed me and family with tremendous blessings. Halftime Sports grew immensely, Halftime Health (Created by me and my high school best friend) was created, family stayed healthy and prospered greatly, my eyes and heart were opened to new friends (Cara, Nicky, Carolyn, Wendy, Walter D, Sandy R, Nivia R, Gil H, Samir P, Nikki and many more), while my heart and soul expelled folks who I thought were my friends, but really weren't (Julian B, Deno H, etc). And, yes, I put their names out there because it's always good to know who loves you and who doesn't (life lesson). Sometimes, when challenging things happen to you, your eyes are opened to the circle of love around you. Former players coming to my house to check on their old coach, present players providing daily love and hugs, out of state friends and family sending heart warming text messages and cards daily to make sure you are good. Immediate family, pouring love daily. The love goes on and on and on. So, really, 2018 was not a bad year; We will not allow Cancer to destroy our lives. Elisa and I will experience our Mediterranean Trip in 2019, as it was slightly delayed during 2018 but we will share our love together in the Mediterranean this year. Chase and I are going to San Antonio to see the Many Ginobili Jersey Retirement ceremony and game (March). Blake fuels my spiritual soul everyday with his "Today's Prayers" Card, which I read daily. And, Steph keeps me rocking in Spurs and Titans gear each week (LOL). Cancer took my mother, brother, sister, nephew, uncle, grandmother, but it won't take me. We created a new vibe when it comes to cancer. Cancer Be Gone!!! My best friends, Chris C and Arthur T, showed me how to beat this nasty disease, as they overcame this disease a few years ago, and I am thankful for their love and mentor ship. To my mother (Iris), brother (Wylie), Sister (Jackie), Nephew (Tyrone), Uncle (Howard), grandmother (Gertrude), We Got This! As you look down from heaven, know that I love you and hope you are proud of me. Much like a heavyweight prize fighter, I fight for you everyday, and the fight continues to get stronger each round. 2019 is going to be an awesome year!!! Be encouraged today and know that no matter what is happening in your life right now, you can embrace the new life God has prepared for you. Make the choice today to leave the old behind—leave behind old behavior, old thinking, old words. Today's Prayer My soul, find rest in God: my hope comes from him. Psalm 62:5

AuthorWas diagnosed with Prostate Cancer on July 18, 2018 which may have crushed someone's soul and spirit. However, it did the opposite, as I already knew GOD had claimed my victory over this disease and was using me as an instrument to others who suffer from this deadly disease. Archives
