Hello,
It's been a few days since I last posted, and I apologize for that. Although, the cancer is almost all removed from my body, I have experienced physical and emotional challenges. Everyday is like a roller coaster filled with discomfort, sometimes pain, sleepless nights, mental challenges and more. I am physically getting stronger each day, but still have the radiation side effects. This week has been my most challenging emotional week, as the effects of having cancer finally caught up to me. Every television show I watch has someone dying of cancer or being diagnosed with cancer. The emotional effects this disease plays on your mind can be very challenging and disruptive to your daily life style. But, I understand, In life, we all have ups and downs. There are days/weeks/months that are more difficult than others, seasons of testing, trials and temptation where our character is being developed and our faith in God is being strengthened. Sometimes it can feel like we are taking three steps forward and four steps backward. If we’re not careful, we’ll start thinking that life is always going to be this way. Even in our awesome seasons, we’ll start looking for things to go wrong. God doesn’t want us to live life like a roller coaster. He wants to bring us to a place of stability where we remain strong in Him. If we will just keep abiding in Him, just keep meditating on His Word, He’ll bring us through. He’ll make us strong, He’ll keep us stable, and we will keep moving forward into the life of blessing He has prepared for us! I want to thank Coach Domville, Centennial High School Head Coach, and Centennial HS administration, staff and students for bringing awareness to this dreaded disease at their basketball games tonight and for honoring all of us that have gone through this cancer crap. Yall are loved and appreciated. Love you for reading my blog!

Hope you are having a great day and Thanksgiving week.
I have been feeling stronger and stronger each day and continue to rock this cancer crap. The side effects are real but just a small reminder of how battled tested I was prior to this journey. Sometimes, Our battle scars can be a reminder of the pain, or they can be a reminder of the grace of GOD. Our battle scars are not there to depress us, they are there to encourage us. They are reminders of what GOD has brought us through. Nothing can stop ME! Nothing can stop YOU! There is too much life left for us to give in to cancer, or any other illness. Let's Go Get It! Love you for reading my blog! So, I just got off the phone with a mom who lost her husband this past Sunday. She called because her son needed a basketball home (program)….and of course, I said yes. A friend of mine was just recently diagnosed with breast cancer. I say all of this because I was battling cancer for the past 3 1/2 months and still dealing with the crazy side effects, but there are others that have challenges much worse than me and you! I'm feeling much better each day, getting stronger everyday and loving life on a minute basis.
Right now, God is working behind the scenes in your life! No matter what you may be facing, no matter what trial you may be going through, God has a plan to turn things around in your favor. Right now, He is working out a plan for your good. Right now, He is orchestrating the right people to come across your path. He is orchestrating the right opportunities to open up to you. You may not see it, but look with your eyes of faith today. Keep standing. Keep believing. Keep hoping. Keep following His Word. Focus on His goodness in your life, knowing that He rewards the people who seek after Him. As you meditate on the faithfulness of God and show your love for Him by following His Word, you will see His great plan come to pass. You’ll experience His peace and joy and embrace the victory He has prepared for you! This morning when I woke up, my first thought was "Thank you GOD for allowing me to wake up and be a part of your world today." Then, I thought, "Why hasn't Elisa turned off the alarm clock.? uuuuggghhh
Maybe when you wake up, you think about the business meeting you have today, or the kids lunches, or work stuff. Maybe you are facing a financial challenge, health problem or going through a difficulty in a relationship that seems to consume your thoughts. Today, I want to encourage you, instead of focusing on what your circumstances have to offer, focus on what God has to offer you. His mercies are new every morning, and His compassion never fails. He has amazing things in store for you today; He has joy in store for you today, and He has peace in store for you today. The key is setting your focus and mind in the right direction. You can’t wait to see how you feel, what kind of mood your wife/husband is in, what the traffic is like, or what the stock market is doing. No, you have to choose to set your focus by saying, “I am going to have a great day. I am blessed I know God is directing my steps; something good is going to happen to me today! Challenge Don't let anyone dictate your mood or day. You make today AWESOME! Love you for reading my blog. |
AuthorWas diagnosed with Prostate Cancer on July 18, 2018 which may have crushed someone's soul and spirit. However, it did the opposite, as I already knew GOD had claimed my victory over this disease and was using me as an instrument to others who suffer from this deadly disease. Archives
