Can someone explain to me the following;

Why do Dental Hygienists want to have a conversation with you while your mouth is wide open and a drill hovering in your mouth?

Do you brush and floss your teeth before going to see your Dentist?

Am I the only one, in a crowd, moving from side to side as to not bump into anyone.  No one else seems to move....they just continue to walk straight.

The red lights always catch me when I'm in a rush or running late for an appointment.

While at your doctor's appointment, you attempt to take off everything possible before being weighed....knowing that fat breakfast you ate is not going to help you or the scale.

Anyway, I'm doing very good today.....feeling strong and active.  Looking to get into some Restorative Yoga to get my body back in shape and stretch out these fatigued muscles.

KC'isms

72) People do not define you
73) Happiness is found within your heart
74) Remind your "Good" friends how much you love and value them

Release your worries

Sometimes the pressures of life can cause unnecessary stress. So many of us , and I am guilty of this, lose sleep worrying about things , work, school or people in our lives, but God wants us to live a life of rest and peace. When Jesus walked on this earth, He took time away from the crowds. He spent time with the Father. He found rest. Do you ever notice that when you are stressed out or worrying about something, you’re less tolerant of the people around you? Usually, the people that love you the most - get the grunt of your uneasiness.  You’re more likely to say something you don’t really mean. God wants you to give your cares to Him so that you can live with a gentle and humble attitude & heart toward others.

Today, I ask that my prayer warriors pray for the Wiley family and other families that may have some challenges happening in their lives today or this week.

KCisms
66) Don't discuss business on a elevator
67) Be a gracious loser
68) Be a humble winner
69) Say your points in a business meeting and then listen
70) Listen more than you talk

Today's Prayer
With all my hear, I am waiting, LORD, for you!  I trust your promise

Women

As I started my day, I was thankful for being able to wake up, having an incredible wife, children and friend network.  I also began to think about the powerful, strong, awesome women in my life.  Although my mother (Iris) and sister (Jackie) are no longer physically with us, they were strong women who instilled confidence and love in my soul.

My loving wife (Elisa) who has been incredible though this cancer journey, and even before the prognosis, and Gail, Cara, Wendy and all of my girls with Northside Medical, who gave me strength daily to help me overcome our cancer battle.  I started thinking where did all of this strength come from.  Why are women so much stronger willed than men?  Why are women the back bone of our families?  Well, God presented the answer to me via a bible passage;

Judith 13:1-11 and 12-20 (I will just summarize the passages)
A mean, spiteful King named Holofernes (King of the Assyrians) seek to destroy Judith and the Israelites.  Judith, by herself, sought out to save her land, precious people and faith.  Long story short, Judith returned victorious over the King and his army and lived the rest of her life revered and loved by her family and the Israelites.

Imagine taking on a King and his army by yourself to protect your family....that's what Judith did!!!! This is where the fighting spirit of women come from.  Women will do anything to protect their families. I have nothing but admiration and love for women.  Thank you for being you!

Today's Prayer
Where God guides, He provides
            ISAIAH 58:11

KC'isms
61) Respect your children's privacy.  Knock before entering their room
62) On your birthday, send your mom a "Thank you" note
63) Try to make a new friend each week
64) Always respect your elders
65) Be grateful that God doesn't answer ALL your prayers

Love on Life

Please accept my sincerest apology for my lack of post recently.  I allowed life, work and march madness basketball to get in the way of my therapeutic platform with you.

My most recent post was about my challenges with the cancer/radiation side effects, mentally and physically.  But, the aforementioned can never touch my soul and spirit.  My soul allows me to love life while my spirit fights off anything that attempts to negate my love for life.

If the circumstances of life have taken away your joy, today is the day to get it back. You weren’t meant to live this life feeling drained, depressed and down. God wants you to be excited about your future and learn to enjoy each and every day.

Start each morning with a declaration of faith. Thank  God for allowing you to wake up, walk, talk, read, smile, laugh, etc. You have to be determined to enjoy your life even when challenges come your way. Every day you can choose to enjoy the things that God has given you. Keep giving God praise despite your circumstances, and you will enjoy your life to the fullest today.

Today's Prayer
Arise, for it is your task, and we are with you; be strong and do it.
                          EZRA 10:4

KC'ism
56) Use credit cards only for convenience, never for credit
57) Pay your bills on time
58) Keep a fire extinguisher in your home and car
59) Put a lot of marshmallows in your hot chocolate
60) Greet an angry person with a pleasant smile and warm tone

Mental and Physical anguish

3/13/2019

Hello,
Let's keep it real today....Although, my PSA readings are fantastic (0.10), my body aches and hurts each day.  I have gained weight, lost my ass, chest is not the same and I struggle each day with my overall appearance. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining, as the radiation treatments and SEEDS therapy did their jobs.  However, this is just part of the process....they say, "Trust The Process."

My body will take a year, from my last treatment, to completely heal and get back to normal....whatever normal is!  When I sit for an extended period, my hamstrings hurt and it takes a few steps before I can actually walk without looking like an 90 year old man.  My work outs have been limited due to the side effects thus my weight gain and muscle mass loss have been challenging as well, and therein is my challenge.  I want my old stamina and body back but I must be patient.

Prior to my cancer journey, I worked out and stayed in shape, not because I'm vain, but I always wanted Elisa to be proud when we would go out in public, and like my physical appearance.

My recent trip to Austin, Texas had me a little nervous, as I simply had a chest cold, but the symptoms were just the same as when Elisa and I went to NY, just prior to me being diagnosed with cancer. I have to mentally work on not getting nervous every time I feel fatigued, short of breath or simply not 100%.  All will be good as my prayer warriors continually rock with me, and my family and friend support is phenomenal.

I know this blog is all over the board, but when speaking from the heart -you may miss a comma, or create a new paragraph when one is not needed, or not complete a sentence, but the meaning comes across the same.

Today Prayer (Is my favorite)
Be joyful always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances
                         1 THESSALONIANS 5:16-18

Note: I was so close to getting a tattoo of a cross with the above scripture while in Austin this past weekend.

KCisms
51) Allow someone with an out of state plates move in front of you while driving
52) Always open your mothers car door
53) Open the car door for your female friend, even if she is not your girlfriend
54) At meetings, resist the temptation to turn around to see who has just arrived late
55) Don't be late to business meetings or family gatherings

Do something nice for someone today that you don't know.....
Smile a lot.....
Give off positive energy......
Greet people with a firm handshake, a sincere smile and warmth....
When someone introduces themselves to you, repeat their names at least 6 times (in your head) so you will remember their name down the road......
Call an old friend or family member you haven't talk to in awhile....

Today's Prayer
He fills my life with good things, so that I stay young and strong like an eagle

Love

My day, as usual, started early with some cartoons, two boiled eggs, piece of toast, getting rocky fed and preparing for an awesome day.  Lots of calls in early along with returned email messages and looking forward to lunch where I will eat my tuna sandwich and watch Game of Thrones.  After several friends recommendations, I finally got into Game of Thrones and DANG!  Who doesn't like fire breathing dragons, constant battles, treason and adventure???

As I take a breath from life and post on my blog, I am constantly reminded of how lucky I am to have an awesome prayer group, wonderful friends and incredible family.  While I was fighting this cancer crap, my beautiful wife (Elisa) ask me to listen to a song which reminds her of me.  It is a song by Brett Young named "In Case You Didn't Know."  Below are the lyrics to it;

I can't count the times
I almost said what's on my mind
But I didn't
Just the other day
I wrote down all the things I'd say
But I couldn't
I just couldn't
Baby I know that you've been wondering
Mmm, so here goes nothing
In case you didn't know
Baby I'm crazy 'bout you
And I would be lying if I said
That I could live this life without you
Even though I don't tell you all the time
You had my heart a long, long time ago
In case you didn't know

The way you look tonight

That second glass of wine
That did it, mmm
There was something 'bout that kiss
 it did me in
Got me thinking
I'm thinking
One of the things that I've been feeling
Mmm it's time you here 'em

You've got all of me
I belong to you
Yeah you're my everything

Makes my heart smile every time I hear this song - knowing that someone like her loves me!

Make some smile today.  A smile has so much positive energy and power.  You never know what someone is going through - a smile might be just what the doctor ordered.

Today's Prayer
Perhaps you were born for such a time as this.
                          ESTHER 4:14

KC-isms

Think Like A Champion!

3/6/2019

Good Morning,
I sincerely pray this blog reaches you in the best of health and spirits.

Recently, our Oglethorpe University team lost in the 2nd round of the NCAA playoffs, and I was asked, "Was it a failed season?"  Answer is no because I always think like a champion.  And, I encourage the people around me to think like champions....this means, keeping a positive frame of mind, less worrying and not allowing set backs to stop me from accomplishing your goals and dreams.

Always march forward with confidence knowing that we will claim victory.  The Bible says you don't have to worry—you are an overcomer in Christ!

When worry comes against us, we can choose not to dwell on those negative thoughts that can bring your spirit down. Like changing a radio station, we can change the channel in our mind from thoughts of defeat to thoughts of victory. Be a blessing to someone today with your positive spirit and generous heart.

I'm feeling good today; great morning and looking forward to rocking today.

KC-isms;
41) Be a Blessing to someone today
42) Don't let anyone see you tipsy
43) Take a brisk 20-30 minute walk each day
44) Relish in the small pleasures of life
45) Never cheat

Today's Prayer
As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend
                                 PROVERBS 27:17

Was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer on July 18, 2018 which may have crushed someone's soul and spirit.  However, it did the opposite, as I already knew GOD had claimed my victory over this disease and was using me as an instrument to others who suffer from this deadly disease.
